The Paternal Doula Services
Thank you for your continued interest in what Daniel at the Paternal Doula can offer.

You can contact me at any point in your Antenatal journey.

I offer a free thirty minute zoom or meet up in person for an information session. This is where we get to know about each other, your plans and hopes, and my ethos and the gentle space that I hold.

If you are looking into a doula you probably already have an idea about the kind of support you are looking for. But equally if you don't then my job is to show up and go through the types of support available, and what the boundaries of a doula's role are. Every doula is different and you will find the one that is right for you.

What does Daniel at The Paternal Doula Offer?
When you contact me we will arrange a meeting, either by zoom or in person.
From this first session you will decide whether or not we are a good fit, and I will also be assessing whether I am the correct doula for you.

From there, depending on what stage of your pregnancy you are at, we will schedule our Antenatal work, which is about building bonds and making the plan for how you see your birthing journey and how you see me and my role. I am there to listen, hold space, validate and signpost you. I am not there to judge and tell you how to walk this path.

We will generally have 3 Antenatal sessions, lasting 2 hours, in which time we can do whatever is needed. Whether that be gentle yoga and breath-work, attending an antenatal appointment or simply meeting for a walk to go over information you have gathered and discuss how you are feeling, birth-plans and options. Extra sessions can be booked at a cost of £30 per hour.

It is always good to have at least one of these sessions with both parties present. That is if there is a birth partner or family member, & they are going to be a part of the birthing process.
There really are no rules to these sessions. They are yours, so you ask for what you need.

Then moving onto the birthing process itself, I will be on call generally from 38 weeks until 42 weeks. These timings can be different depending on a few factors.
In this on call period I will be no further than 60 minutes from you, and will attend the birth & perform my role as agreed and set out in the birthing plan.
I will not consume alcohol and will be ready to take your call 24 hours a day.

Postnatally I will make two further visits. One usually four days after the birth and another two weeks after this. This can be flexible if you want longer between birth and these sessions, but just know that it is a part of the package.

For the in person support package I charge £1,750.
A deposit of £750 is payable on booking my service and the balance of £1,000 payable the day I go on call for you.

I also offer the same support via a digital package if you don't live within the sixty minute boundary. For this service I charge £1,350.

A deposit of £550 is payable on booking my service and the balance of £800 payable the day I go on call for you.

For every two paying births I will be able to do one Pro-Bono package for an unsupported or vulnerable birthing person. So you will not only get a doula, but you will be contributing to the support of another birthing person and their journey too.

The only other additional costs are travel expenses and parking. This will be clearly laid out in the contracting session, so there are no surprises.

I hope this is enough information to get you thinking about whether you would like to make contact and take the first step.
